Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), or also referred to as a photofacial, is an intense, visible, broad-spectrum pulse of light which is delivered on the skin to target tissue. This treatment was a first- generation technology that changed the way unwanted red and brown coloration was treated.

The light energy is converted to heat, which damages the hair follicle within the skin that produce hairs. This damage inhibits future hair growth. Because all hair follicles do not produce a hair at the same time, multiple treatments are necessary to ensure that all follicles have been treated effectively. Maintenance treatments might be needed as well. Forever Bare™ hair removal is most effective for people who have light skin and dark hair, but it can be successfully used on almost all skin types.
